Transport Officer

About the role

The Transport Officer will manage the institute's vehicle fleet and coordinate all transport activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable movement of staff and students. This full‑time onsite role reports to senior management and supports the institute’s logistics and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and dispatch vehicles for daily transport operations.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage logistics planning, including route optimization and supply‑chain coordination.
• Analyze transport data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure drivers hold valid licences and adhere to institute policies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a transport officer, coordinator or dispatcher.
• Valid BCE/D3 driving licence and a Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Proven ability in vehicle mechanics, repair, and logistics management.
• Strong verbal communication, interpersonal skills and team leadership.

• Driving licence Class B, C, E – light and heavy commercial vehicles.
