Tutorial Fellow (Population Health) - Grade 11

About the role

Mama Ngina University College, a constituent college of Kenyatta University, is recruiting a Tutorial Fellow (Population Health) at Grade 11. This is the entry grade for Masters Degree holders in the cadre, working under the direct supervision of a senior officer. The position covers population health, public health, public reproductive health, epidemiology and disease control, monitoring and evaluation, community health, occupational health and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake teaching, research and community outreach activities
• Take part in developing and reviewing academic programmes
• Guide and counsel students
• Supervise undergraduate research projects
• Administer undergraduate examinations and assess students
• Attend and take part in research conferences and seminars
• Carry out any other relevant duties assigned by the University College

Required profile

• A Master's degree in Population Health, Public Health, Public Reproductive Health, Epidemiology & Disease Control, Monitoring & Evaluation, Community Health or Occupational Health & Safety, or its equivalent, from an accredited university
• A Bachelor's degree in Population Health from an accredited university
• Registered for a Ph.D. in the area of specialty
• Current registration with relevant professional statutory bodies and membership in a professional association is an added advantage
• University teaching experience is an added advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer applications

Terms of service

• One-year contract (renewable twice) based on progress towards a Ph.D.
• Remuneration according to the IPUCCF and CBA 2021-2025 approved rates
