About the role
The Urban Planner will provide planning and design outputs to support UN‑Habitat technical activities for the Geneva Technical Hub (GTH 2.0). The assignment is home‑based and expected to last for two months.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare materials (presentations, maps, drawings) for workshops with city and county officials and technical staff.
- Draft, revise and complete planning materials, including spatial analysis, drawings and reports.
- Participate in technical missions as required.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning and Design or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 7 years of experience producing graphical planning material using CAD tools and GIS software.
- Strong analytical and design abilities for regional and city‑wide planning; experience in African contexts is an asset.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
Required skills
- Proficiency with computer‑assisted design (CAD) tools.
- Proficiency with Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
