US Tax Assistant – Remote Part‑Time

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Preparation Assistant to support our team with tax preparation, data entry, client communication, and day‑to‑day administrative needs. This specialized tax support role requires solid understanding of tax terminology, documentation, and accuracy, and demands a proactive, communicative approach to ensure nothing falls through the cracks during fast‑paced tax seasons.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, organize, and review client tax documents for completeness and accuracy using Lacerte Tax and TaxDome before processing.
• Promptly answer incoming phone calls, respond to client and internal emails, and provide professional assistance.
• Track down missing client documents, information, and outstanding items proactively without needing instruction.
• Maintain accurate client records in tax systems, support inbox management, and handle specialized accounting/tax projects while preserving strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience supporting tax preparation, accounting, or CPA/tax firm operations with US tax knowledge.
• Strong data‑entry skills with high attention to detail and proven experience with Lacerte Tax and TaxDome.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, comfortable speaking professionally with clients via phone and email.
• Demonstrated responsiveness, reliability, proactivity, organization, and ability to manage detail‑heavy work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
