Utility and Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Utility and Mechanical Technician will ensure continuous operation of critical utility systems in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for maintaining water treatment, effluent treatment, HVAC, and other plant equipment to support production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plant.
• Operate and maintain the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, industrial air‑conditioning units, chillers, compressors, pumps, motors and related utility equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Monitor utility system performance and ensure optimal operational efficiency.
• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, calibration and equipment repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Participate in equipment installation, commissioning and improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Higher Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning, Industrial Plant Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in utility and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven experience operating RO plants, ETP systems, HVAC, industrial chillers, air compressors, pumps and other utility equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining high workmanship standards.
