Vehicle Inspection Specialist

About the role

The Car Inspector at Peach will conduct thorough vehicle inspections, identifying mechanical and cosmetic issues to support informed purchase or sale decisions. This role demands strong automotive knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and clear communication of findings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of vehicles, covering mechanical and non‑mechanical aspects, alongside the Assistant Inspector.
• Review and validate inspection work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Diagnose, document, and report all identified issues.
• Interpret inspection data and produce clear, logical documentation.
• Guide customers through inspection reports, explaining findings and recommendations.
• Participate in internal training sessions to enhance team capability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including research and process enhancements.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Vehicle Inspection, Automotive Diagnostics, or Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle inspection, diagnostics, or repairs.
• Proven experience with engine checks, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, bodywork, and interiors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OBD (On‑Board Diagnostics) tools.
• Use of computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Manual inspection tools for detailed vehicle checks.
• Digital reporting systems for documenting inspection results.
