Vehicle Inspector

About the role

The Vehicle Inspector will carry out comprehensive inspections of cars, identifying mechanical and cosmetic issues and producing accurate reports. This position supports customers in making informed purchase or sale decisions and requires strong automotive knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections covering mechanical and non‑mechanical aspects, working alongside an Assistant Inspector.
• Validate and review inspection work to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Diagnose, document, and report all identified issues using clear, logical documentation.
• Guide customers through inspection findings and recommendations.
• Participate in internal training sessions to enhance team capability.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, including research and process enhancements.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Vehicle Inspection, Automotive Diagnostics or Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
• Minimum 3 years experience in vehicle inspection, diagnostics or repairs.
• Proven knowledge of engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, bodywork and interiors.
• Familiarity with pre‑purchase and pre‑repair inspection standards.
