Volunteer Senior Measurement & Evaluation Specialist (Remote)

About the role

This volunteer position supports Ashoka’s global network of social entrepreneurs by providing senior‑level research, measurement and evaluation expertise to staff and Fellows on a project‑by‑project basis.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional consults and project‑based engagements to help Fellows design and implement measurement systems.
• Promote your expertise to Ashoka staff and Fellows over a 2‑3 month engagement period, with introductions to relevant needs as they arise.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (master’s preferred) in Development Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, Data Science, or Health Economics with 7‑10+ years of MERL and impact evaluation experience.
• Proven leadership of MERL functions or teams, including end‑to‑end design of indicators, data collection, quality assurance and learning loops.
• Mixed‑methods expertise covering quantitative designs (e.g., difference‑in‑differences, regression discontinuity) and qualitative approaches (case studies, theory‑of‑change validation).

Required skills

• Fluency in statistical software such as Stata, R or Python.
• Advanced Excel/Sheets and data‑visualisation tools.
