Wage and Hour Specialist – Regional Enforcement Coordinator (H1B/H2B)

About the role

The Wage and Hour Specialist (Regional Enforcement Coordinator – H‑1B/H‑2B) serves as the primary advisor to regional and district management on enforcement and compliance matters within the Wage and Hour Division. The role involves guiding litigation strategy, overseeing investigations, and coordinating with other federal, state, and local agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Explain and present potential litigation cases to the Regional Solicitor and represent the Regional Office in settlement conferences and trials.
• Identify and develop potential litigation cases in collaboration with the Solicitor’s Office.
• Provide technical oversight for national and regional initiatives, including planning, assigning work, and monitoring investigative and research activities.
• Resolve logistical and technical issues that arise during investigations.
• Guide case development, investigative techniques, and interpretation of statutes, regulations, and related federal or state laws.
• Review and evaluate findings of individual and team efforts to ensure sound conclusions and recommendations.
• Coordinate program activities with other Department of Labor, state, and federal agencies.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 16.
• Ability to obtain the required security clearance.
• Meet the Individual Occupational Requirement by satisfying at least two of the following: knowledge of federal wage‑and‑hour laws, skill in analyzing written/verbal information and numerical data, and experience in decision‑making based on interviews.
• At least one full year of relevant work experience (35‑40 hours per week) with documented start and end dates.
