Waiter / Food & Beverage Attendant

About the role

The Fairmont The Norfolk hotel is seeking a courteous and efficient Waiter/Food & Beverage Attendant to join its dining team. Reporting to the F&B Manager, you will deliver high‑quality service to guests in a historic luxury setting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and break down service stations, ensuring equipment and supplies are organized.
• Take food and beverage orders, serve guests professionally, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Provide knowledgeable menu guidance and tailor service to individual diner needs.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and follow hotel cash procedures.
• Monitor daily reports on arrivals, VIPs, and group bookings, acting on required follow‑ups.
• Maintain table cleanliness, clear used items promptly, and support bar service when needed.
• Communicate special dietary requirements to kitchen and bar staff.
• Check buffet stations for replenishment, cleanliness, and guest requests.
• Uphold personal hygiene standards and contribute to a safe dining environment.
• Assist in training junior staff and participate in service improvement meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in Food & Beverage, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• Operational knowledge of a Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong guest‑service orientation.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering consistent service.
