Warehouse Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead the day‑to‑day integrity, security and control environment of M‑KOPA’s warehouse and logistics operations in Kenya. You will be the site‑level custodian of inventory discipline, customs compliance and team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce disciplined storage and inventory controls, including rack utilisation audits and accurate bin‑location mapping.
• Manage marketing merchandise SLAs, track storage limits and clear non‑compliant items.
• Produce monthly inventory ageing reports with Finance, implement disposal policy and maintain a disposal register.
• Coordinate inbound logistics with clearing agents and customs authorities, ensure accurate import documentation and duty remission compliance.
• Oversee outbound logistics standards, third‑party SLAs and billing verification.
• Lead day‑to‑day inventory operations (goods‑in, put‑away, picking, cycle counts) and drive continuous improvement.
• Train, coach and develop warehouse and logistics staff, set performance objectives and manage shift coverage.
• Ensure health, safety and audit compliance, close audit action points on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–8 years progressive experience in warehouse, logistics or supply chain management.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience with inventory controls, customs clearance, duty remission schemes and cross‑border logistics.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and clearing procedures.
• High proficiency in Excel and data processing tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP/WMS platforms (e.g., SAP).
• Understanding of finance procedures for stock valuation and ageing reporting.
