Women’s Economic Empowerment Manager – Regional Livestock Programme

About the role

The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Manager will lead the design, implementation and oversight of gender‑transformative interventions within the Regional Livestock Programme across Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Reporting to the Programme Director, the manager will ensure that women, youth and other marginalized groups benefit equitably from livestock market opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and provide leadership for the WEE agenda across livestock trade corridors, integrating gender‑transformative approaches into value chains, animal health, feed, trade, business development services and financial inclusion.
• Lead the implementation of the GESI strategy, ensuring compliance with Prosper Global’s Global Minimum Standards for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, and oversee gender‑responsive MEAL systems.
• Provide technical oversight and capacity‑building to programme teams and partners, guiding gender analyses, training, coaching and mentorship to embed inclusive practices.
• Engage key stakeholders—including governments, private sector, donors and civil society—to advocate for inclusive policies, mobilise resources and promote sustainable market‑driven opportunities for women.
