Zonal Sales Manager

About the role

The Zonal Sales Manager will report to the Zonal Business Manager and lead the growth of Airtel Kenya’s business within an assigned zone. The role focuses on acquiring GSM and Airtel Money customers, expanding distribution infrastructure, and supervising a field sales team.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and adopt an effective distribution strategy to increase sales in the zone.
• Achieve key performance indicators and sales targets.
• Plan and execute sales programs for market penetration and share growth.
• Foster internal collaboration, teamwork, and sales routines.
• Manage the field sales team and resources, ensuring discipline and adherence to standards.
• Maintain Airtel Kenya branding and merchandising compliance.
• Recruit, pitch, and manage franchise partners and distribution outlets.
• Escalate trade or network issues to the Line Manager and follow up for resolution.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma or Graduate degree.
• 4‑6 years of hands‑on experience in distribution and retail indirect sales within telecom or FMCG.
• Goal‑oriented with demonstrated leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Intermediate knowledge of business finance principles and strong business acumen.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in any region across Kenya.
