3D Design Intern

About the role

Woodnork Green Limited is hiring a 3D Design Intern in Nairobi's Westlands area. The intern helps turn approved 3D renders into clear, accurate, production-ready drawings that the carpentry, welding, CNC and installation teams can use, with guidance from the Creative Lead and the production team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and renders from project briefs.
• Translate approved concepts into dimensioned technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections and assembly details.
• Prepare component drawings showing measurements, materials, thicknesses, finishes and connection details.
• Assist with cutting lists, material schedules and CNC/laser-ready files under supervision.
• Consult the production team to confirm that designs are practical to fabricate, transport and install.
• Update drawings after design changes, site measurements and workshop feedback.
• Keep drawing versions organised and make approved revisions clear.
• Follow projects through production to understand and resolve gaps between design and finished product.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final-year student in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, Technical Drawing or a related field.
• Portfolio showing both 3D visualisation and technical drawing ability; academic and personal projects are welcome.
• Attention to detail, willingness to learn and confidence working with workshop teams.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, Blender or similar 3D modelling software.
• Ability to prepare dimensioned 2D drawings with Archicad or equivalent software.
• Basic understanding of scale, measurements, materials and construction methods.
