Accountant – Financial Reporting & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our growing team in Nyeri. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance processes, audits, and financial controls while supporting our international operations and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and maintain accurate financial records, reports and reconciliations.
• Conduct financial and operational audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Perform internal control testing and support enterprise risk‑management processes.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP and SOX standards.
• Monitor financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
• Identify financial risks and recommend corrective measures.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audit processes.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights for business decisions.
• Maintain proper accounting documentation in line with audit requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align financial processes and reporting.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, compliance regulations and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience supporting international clients or operations, preferably in the U.S. market.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced, cross‑time‑zone environments.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) is an advantage.

• Familiarity with risk‑management frameworks such as COSO or ISO 31000
