Accounts Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Clerk will ensure accurate financial records for Severin Sea Lodge, a 4‑star resort on Bamburi Beach. The role is on‑site in Mombasa and involves daily reconciliation, tax filing and supporting the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile daily takings, credit‑card, PDQ reports and M‑Pesa statements against bank statements and system records.
• Review aged payables and receivables, follow up overdue balances and resolve account differences.
• Clear daily open items, reconcile bank statements, POS sales across hotel outlets and petty cash.
• Prepare, file and pay VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax and other statutory returns on KRA iTax and eTIMS.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA Intermediate (Section 4) or ACCA equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of practical accounting experience, including Kenyan tax work on KRA iTax.

Required skills

• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, including XLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Experience with Odoo and hospitality PMS/POS systems such as Mews or Opera.
