Accounts Intern

About the role

Royal Mabati Factory Limited is seeking an Accounts Intern to support its finance team in Nairobi. This role offers hands‑on experience in various accounting functions within a leading roofing products manufacturer.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, both physical and electronic.
• Support accounts payable by verifying supplier invoices, preparing payment vouchers, and updating payment records.
• Support accounts receivable by recording customer receipts, maintaining debtor records, and helping reconcile accounts.
• Record daily cash and bank transactions and aid in bank reconciliations.
• Enter financial transactions into the accounting system and ensure data accuracy.
• Help prepare schedules and reports for monthly financial reporting and statutory filings.
• Assist in preparing documents for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Provide general finance office administration and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field (ongoing or recently completed).
• CPA Part I or II is an advantage.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting software (preferred).
