Administration Associate

About the role

Terre des hommes is seeking a qualified WASH Engineer & Technical Consultant to support water and sanitation projects in Kiambu County, Kenya. The consultancy lasts three months (three days per week) starting in June 2026, with a possible extension. The role reports to the Project Manager and ensures technical quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and supervise Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and all technical documentation for water and sanitation rehabilitation works.
• Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary assessments for WASH facilities in schools.
• Obtain necessary licenses and authorizations in line with Kenyan legislation.
• Direct and monitor contractors, verifying quality of works, materials, safety and environmental standards.
• Participate in tender preparation, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria.
• Issue Work Completion Certificates and ensure administrative and technical closure of infrastructure activities.
• Coordinate with the Nairobi logistics team and the Project Manager to integrate WASH, education and child protection components.
• Carry out baseline assessments on hygiene access and related indicators.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience in water, sanitation or related fields.
• Familiarity with Kenyan legislation and international WASH standards.
• Ability to work independently and supervise field activities.
• Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and technical documentation.
