Advanced Eplan Designer

About the role

The Advanced Eplan Designer will join interdisciplinary project teams supporting industrial logistics and automotive manufacturing environments. Working closely with the Lead Hardware Engineer and Project Manager, you will create and maintain accurate, build‑ready electrical documentation for new and existing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical drawing packages for equipment and machinery from concept through release using customer standards and internal templates.
• Design control systems with EPLAN and produce electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Generate layouts, terminal plans, reports, labels and supporting documentation.
• Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials, documenting approved deviations.
• Update drawings to reflect as‑built conditions and system modifications.
• Support installation, integration and commissioning phases as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Controls Engineers and cross‑functional teams to keep projects on schedule.
• Develop and implement efficiency improvements such as macros, templates, add‑ins and process enhancements.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electrical design standards and safety codes.
• Experience with automotive industry standards (e.g., Volkswagen VASS, BMW TMO) is a plus.
• Ability to adapt quickly to design changes in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 10 % to customer locations.

Required skills

• EPLAN (primary CAD tool).
• AutoCAD Electrical (acceptable alternative).
• General CAD software proficiency.
• Network design and installation knowledge.
• Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook.
• Creation of Bills of Materials.
• Macros, scripting and add‑in development for engineering automation.
