Agribusiness Management Specialist (National Position)

About the role

This national position supports the AGRIPACT project, which works with dairy cooperatives and other producers. The specialist provides technical support and coordinates with public and private stakeholders, integrating gender, youth and climate-smart practices into field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with local government authorities, agricultural research institutes and private sector players to build sustainable service ecosystems.
• Support producer compliance with food safety regulations, grade standards, certification requirements and quality control protocols.
• Prepare and submit monthly performance reports, work plans and budgets; coordinate the implementation of AGRIPACT activities to a high standard of quality.
• Provide technical support and capacity development to field officers, and track project progress and best practices through the monitoring and evaluation system.
• Maintain partnerships with county governments, line ministries, the private sector and interest associations, and represent AVSI and the project at relevant meetings.
• Monitor and document the progress and milestones of matching grants for dairy cooperatives, and capture impact evidence and success stories for the Project Manager.
• Organise participation in trainings, field visits and learning tours, and collect data according to the provided tools.
• Take part in bi-weekly MEAL meetings and quarterly project management committee meetings, and develop at least three life transformation project success stories.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Rural Development or a closely related field; master's degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of professional experience designing and managing market-led agricultural development interventions, agribusiness enterprise support or value chain projects.
• Demonstrated experience working with agricultural cooperatives, producer organisations, off-takers, commercial banks and microfinance institutions.
