AI Platform Engineer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is expanding its enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate program delivery and operational efficiency. As an AI Platform Engineer you will own the technical layer that keeps AI tools reliable, secure, and integrated with the organization’s data ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and operate enterprise AI platforms such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Azure OpenAI, managing user access, API keys, and workspace configurations.
• Monitor system health, usage patterns, token consumption and troubleshoot pipeline or integration failures.
• Develop and maintain lightweight scripts, connectors and automations in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript to support AI‑assisted workflows.
• Build and sustain REST API integrations, handling authentication, webhooks and error management.
• Collaborate with DevOps, data engineering and InfoSec teams to ensure secure, observable, and cost‑effective AI deployments.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience administering enterprise AI platforms and familiarity with LLM infrastructure (prompt pipelines, RAG, vector stores).
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for scripting and automation.
• Experience working in live production environments with monitoring, alerting and cost‑optimization.
