Apprentice Teacher – Playgroup to Grade 2

About the role

Nova Pioneer is seeking enthusiastic Apprentice Teachers to support Playgroup through Grade 2 classes at its Eldoret Primary campus, starting January 2027. The role combines classroom assistance, activity planning, and student assessment to deliver a 21st‑century learning experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a safe, welcoming environment for young learners.
• Plan and execute daily activities aligned with curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Co‑create a developmentally appropriate classroom setting together with the resident teacher.
• Participate in professional development sessions, team meetings and instructional coaching.
• Assist in ongoing assessment of student progress and adapt instruction based on data.
• Supply diverse materials for exploration, imaginative play and creative projects.
• Teach proper use and care of equipment to prevent injuries and damage.
• Organise and lead games, arts‑and‑crafts, music and storytelling activities.

Required profile

• Passion for early childhood education and innovative learning approaches.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a resident teacher and support staff.
• Commitment to Nova Pioneer’s values and belief in inquiry‑based learning.
• Willingness to start in January 2027 and engage in continuous professional growth.
