Army Fellows Program – Civil Engineer

About the role

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is offering a two‑year Army Fellows Program for recent civil engineering graduates. Fellows receive structured training, mentorship, and hands‑on experience across a range of civil works, military construction, environmental and emergency‑management projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, analysis and execution of civil engineering projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, technical studies and evaluations.
• Support project managers and multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex infrastructure.
• Review engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates and technical reports.
• Participate in site visits, inspections and construction oversight.
• Analyze data and prepare recommendations for project improvements.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with federal, state, local and industry partners.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Highly motivated and able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Eligibility for suitability or fitness determination as required by federal employment.
