Assistant Finance Manager – Asset Management

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for Britam Asset Managers and its related entities, providing robust reconciliations, regulatory compliance, and decision‑support reporting for senior management and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Review and oversee preparation of financial reports for BAM Kenya, Uganda, SPVs, Unit Trust Funds and Alternatives.
• Prepare Board Packs, EXCO Packs, Finance Leaders Reports and Operations Reconciliation Reports.
• Review financial performance, variances, risks and provide commentary for decision‑making.
• Supervise, coach and review work performed by finance team members to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance) or equivalent; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA(K), ACCA or membership of ICPAK.
• Relevant experience in finance, investment management, insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, regulatory reporting, taxation and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
