Associate 1: Premium Management

About the role

ICEA Lion is hiring an Associate 1 for its Premium Management function, based in Nairobi (Westlands). The role covers premium collection, coordination with banks for direct debit payments, process improvement and training of new staff.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate credits received in the bank to the respective policies.
• Facilitate receipting of all booked premiums and give feedback to clients on their queries.
• Collect premiums due on debit dates by sending direct debit instructions to the bank, following up on unpaid ones and informing clients of non-paying DDI.
• Maintain good relationships with the banks involved in DDI collections and negotiate favourable charges.
• Arrange and guide sectional meetings, report the minutes to the line manager and separate urgent from important issues.
• Review internal processes and work with the ICT team to improve efficiency, and report challenges and risks to the department.
• Attend meetings with partners (banks, sponsors, sales force) and industry peers.
• Train new staff and the sales team on operation processes, including HR-organised trainings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any field from a reputable university.
• At least one year of post-qualification experience in a life insurance company.
• Progression toward a professional insurance qualification such as ACII or FCII is an added advantage.
