Associate – Commercial Real Estate & Conveyancing

About the role

The Associate will join the Real Estate, Construction & Conservation Law team, providing high‑quality legal advisory and representation across a range of real‑estate and construction matters. You will work on complex transactions, from land acquisitions and sale‑lease‑back deals to REIT structuring and construction contracts, supporting senior lawyers and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conveyancing matters, including land acquisitions, disposals, and sale‑lease‑back transactions.
• Advise on tourism, conservation and wildlife management transactions, including private and community conservancies.
• Support the establishment and regulation of REITs, real‑estate funds and industrial real‑estate projects, especially within Special Economic Zones.
• Draft, negotiate and review construction contracts (FIDIC, JBC, bespoke), consultant appointments and procurement advice.
• Manage due‑diligence, transaction documentation and regulatory compliance for joint‑venture and master‑planned development deals.

Required profile

• LLB degree with strong academic record and admission to practice in Kenya.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience at a top‑tier or reputable mid‑size law firm.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial real‑estate and conveyancing transactions.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities with a high attention to detail.
