Associate Director, Right-Fit Evidence Unit

About the role

The Right-Fit Evidence (RFE) Unit at IPA seeks an Associate Director to lead a portfolio of evidence and learning advisory engagements for funders, implementers, and governments. You will help turn data into decisions by designing learning strategies, building monitoring and evaluation systems, and linking evidence to real‑world outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of 3–5 concurrent advisory engagements across sectors such as education, health, agriculture, finance and livelihoods.
• Act as senior point of contact for clients, designing tailor‑made evidence, learning and M&E solutions.
• Facilitate workshops on theory of change, learning plan design and other evidence‑based tools.
• Provide technical assistance for learning plan implementation, cost‑effectiveness analyses, A/B testing and mixed‑methods evaluations.
• Develop and nurture implementer communities of practice in partnership with funders.
• Support funders ranging from individual donors to global foundations on learning systems, grantmaking and portfolio‑level learning.
• Guide performance management and professional development of managers and advisors on the team.
• Contribute to business development, thought leadership and external relationship management.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading complex advisory projects in development or humanitarian contexts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple high‑impact engagements with autonomy.
• Strong track record of collaborating with funders, implementers and government agencies.
• Experience mentoring senior staff and driving team performance.
