Associate I – Premium Management

About the role

Support premium management activities by processing and reconciling insurance premiums, maintaining accurate policy and financial records, following up on outstanding premiums, preparing reports, and ensuring all transactions comply with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate credits received in the bank to the respective policies.
• Facilitate receipting of all premiums booked and provide feedback to clients on queries.
• Collect premiums due on debit dates by sending direct debit instructions to the bank and follow up on unpaid instructions.
• Maintain cordial relationships with banks, negotiating charges that are favourable to both clients and the company.
• Arrange and guide sectional meetings, report minutes to the line manager, and prioritize urgent issues.
• Review internal processes and work with the ICT team to improve operational efficiency.
• Report challenges or risks affecting departmental efficiency.
• Attend meetings with partners (banks, sponsors, salesforce) and industry peers.
• Train new staff and internal clients on operational processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any field from a reputable university.
• Progression towards a professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII, FCII) is an advantage.
• At least one year of post‑qualification experience in a life insurance company.
