Associate Manager – Production (Nairobi)

About the role

The Associate Manager – Production will lead the implementation of production plans and programmes at SC Johnson’s Nairobi plant, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting market demand while upholding safety, health, environmental and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee production planning to maximise plant utilisation and achieve targets.
• Develop annual, monthly and weekly resource plans based on sales forecasts, covering labour, equipment and materials.
• Manage and optimise production processes, implementing strategies, plans and control systems.
• Ensure cost‑effective use of machines, materials and staff.
• Maintain Safety, Health and Environmental standards in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and local legislation.
• Maintain Quality standards in line with ISO 9001 and local legislation.
• Motivate, lead, develop and supervise production team leaders.
• Update KPI dashboards for weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews and present results to site leadership.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, QA, Warehouse, HR and other functions to meet departmental goals.
• Lead medium‑term sub‑projects for cost reduction and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably FMCG.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem‑solving, conflict resolution and analytical abilities.
