Auto Electrician

About the role

The Auto Electrician will join Intex Construction Limited's workshop team in Westlands, Nairobi, providing expert service on electronically controlled vehicle systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of electrical components to ensure vehicle safety and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Service, identify and repair faults on electronic fuel injection, ignition, immobiliser and air‑conditioning systems.
• Install electrical equipment such as gauges, lighting, alternators, starter motors and other electrically operated accessories.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in plant and equipment, testing and reconditioning alternators, starter motors, voltage regulators and batteries.
• Repair or replace faulty ignition components, wiring, fuses, lamps and switches.
• Prioritise and plan vehicle repairs and maintenance, maintaining accurate records.
• Conduct safety checks, inspections and adhere to the SHEQ policy.
• Respond to emergencies and breakdowns as required.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings from service manuals.
• Prepare material requisition slips and work‑done reports.
• Report abnormalities to the Workshop Supervisor or Plant Manager promptly.

Required profile

• Grade 1 National Trade Certificate or KNEC certificate in auto electrical field.
• Minimum 3 years hands‑on experience as an auto electrician in a busy workshop.
• Above 25 years of age.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
