Bicycle Mechanic for US Navy MWR Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Bicycle Mechanic to support a US Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program on Diego Garcia. The role involves repairing, assembling, and maintaining government‑owned and customer bicycles to ensure safe, high‑quality operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and repair bicycles, installing replacement parts and accessories according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on rental bikes to ensure safety and performance.
• Maintain a detailed bicycle repair log for bi‑monthly government review.
• Provide on‑site repair support during bike races and other MWR events.
• Operate and keep a clean, safe bike shop with tools and equipment in proper condition.
• Order replacement parts and supplies as needed and ensure all work complies with safety standards.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years experience as a bicycle mechanic or in bicycle assembly/repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver bicycles and related equipment.
