Biomass Consultant (Full‑time)

About the role

The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is seeking a qualified Biomass Consultant to join its Nairobi office. The consultant will provide expert advice on biomass-related initiatives, supporting the Centre’s research, development and project implementation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical consultancy on biomass utilization and management.
• Conduct assessments, feasibility studies and data analysis for biomass projects.
• Support the design, planning and implementation of biomass‑related programmes.
• Prepare, review and contribute to technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams across the organisation.
• Promote knowledge sharing, capacity‑building and continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure compliance with ICRAF policies, standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in a related field.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Additional international language(s) considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience working in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in a non‑profit or research organisation is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to collaborative learning and continuous improvement.
