Boiler Operator

About the role

The Boiler Operator will ensure safe and efficient operation of low and high‑pressure boilers within a manufacturing environment. You will monitor performance, maintain equipment, and support water‑treatment processes to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Start, shut down, and operate low/high‑pressure boilers.
• Monitor gauges, pressure, temperature and adjust controls to match load requirements.
• Record meter readings and maintain logs for pressure, temperature, fuel and water quality.
• Inspect boiler pipes, valves, pumps and safety devices for leaks or malfunctions.
• Perform boiler blow‑down and test safety controls.
• Supervise routine maintenance, greasing of stokers, fans, motors and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Manage chemical treatment of boiler water, conduct conductivity, alkalinity, phosphate, silica, sulphate and hardness tests.
• Order and handle gas and oil deliveries.
• Maintain records of chemical consumption, TDS, PPM, pH and steam production.
• Collaborate with state inspectors and perform general plumbing, painting or mechanical repairs as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – Plant or Production.
• 3‑5 years of experience operating and maintaining industrial boilers.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Team‑player attitude.
