Business Coach for CASHA Program in Garissa

About the role

The CASHA Business Coach will support young entrepreneurs and small‑medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in the livestock and agricultural value chains across the ASAL regions of Kenya. Based in Garissa, you will provide hands‑on business development services, mentorship and data‑driven guidance to foster growth and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Business Development Services (BDS) to youth‑led SMEs, focusing on market entry, growth strategies and value‑chain integration.
• Mentor and coach entrepreneurs, helping them refine business models, improve market access and scale operations.
• Collect, enter and analyse field data to generate actionable insights for decision‑making.
• Utilise market trend analysis to advise micro‑enterprise startups on entry strategies.
• Travel across the implementation county on a motorcycle, ensuring outreach to remote communities.
• Collaborate with local partners and stakeholders to promote inclusive economic development.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture or Livestock.
• 3‑5 years experience working with youth, SMEs and livestock/agri value chains.
• Proven track record delivering BDS and fostering business growth in ASAL regions.
• Strong mentorship and coaching abilities.
• Valid A1/A2 motorcycle licence and experience riding a motorcycle.
• Resident of the county where CASHA is implemented.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
