Camera Person – Live Broadcast & TV Production

About the role

The Camera Person will film and record live broadcasts and TV productions for Family Media, ensuring every shot looks and sounds professional. Working closely with producers, presenters and editors, you will capture stories both in the studio and on location.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate and pack away cameras for studio shows, live broadcasts and on‑location events.
• Adjust lighting and sound to achieve high‑quality pictures and audio.
• Set up, troubleshoot and maintain camera equipment, lenses and rigs, reporting any damage.
• Collaborate with producers and video editors to plan assignments and recording sequences.
• Direct studio and on‑location productions when required and suggest creative shots and angles.
• Obtain necessary filming permissions and ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Keep studios and prop rooms clean and organised, and assist with footage review during editing.
• Submit daily work and equipment reports and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Journalism, Media or a related field.
• Previous experience as a camera operator in a media production environment.
• Strong audio‑visual storytelling ability with an eye for composition and framing.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‑solving skills, especially during live broadcasts.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Genuine passion for the Christian faith and alignment with Family Media values.
