Candle Maker

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Candle Maker in Kajiado, where accommodation is provided. The role covers candle and soap production, finishing and decoration, packaging and stock management, and keeping the workspace safe and tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools and equipment for candle and soap production, then measure, mix, melt, pour and mould the materials as instructed.
• Shape, trim and finish candles to the required size, design and appearance, following production instructions to keep quality high and waste low.
• Decorate candles with approved colours, designs and patterns, trim wicks, smooth surfaces and fix minor imperfections.
• Inspect finished products for defects and separate items needing rework.
• Wrap, label and package finished candles and soap, count products and keep accurate records of production quantities, packaging materials and stock levels.
• Monitor raw materials, fragrances, waxes, moulds, wicks and packaging supplies, report shortages and store finished goods safely.
• Keep the production area, worktables, tools and equipment clean and organised, handle wax, fragrances and dyes safely, and report faulty equipment or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Required profile

• A certificate in crafts, production, arts and design or a related field is an added advantage but not mandatory.
• Previous experience in candle making, soap making, handicrafts, cosmetics production or a similar hands-on production role is desirable.
• Basic literacy and numeracy for counting products, measuring materials and recording stock.

Required skills

• Practical ability to perform detailed manual tasks, shape products and apply decorative finishes.
• Basic understanding of product packaging, quality control and stock management.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain production records and meet daily output targets.
• Willingness to learn new production techniques and work with different materials.
