Carpentry Technician II

About the role

The Rift Valley Technical Training Institute is seeking a Carpentry Technician II to support its workshop operations. This position involves maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring a safe learning environment for trainees.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory of tools and equipment within the workshop.
• Keep the workstation clean, organized, and properly laid out.
• Issue and receive tools and equipment to/from trainers and trainees.
• Report delays, material needs, and progress on practical requisitions to section heads.
• Prepare and assemble practical training materials.
• Ensure workshop safety and supervise trainees on safety procedures.
• Perform repairs and routine maintenance on workshop equipment.

Required profile

• Craft certificate in Building Technology or Carpentry.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience with a reputable institution or organization.
• Computer literacy.
• Registration with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) is an advantage.
• Age above 25 years.
