Case Writer – Academic Publishing

About the role

This position supports the Strathmore Africa Case Centre (SACC) by researching business cases, interviewing industry leaders, and drafting academic teaching cases. The role requires strong analytical and writing abilities to produce high‑quality case studies for university curricula. It is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Hub Lead/Editor‑in‑Chief on the suitability of draft cases submitted to SACC.
• Perform preliminary reviews, due‑diligence, and follow‑up reviews within stipulated timelines.
• Manage case‑related email communications and take minutes for meetings, workshops, and seminars.
• Capture case metadata, ensure the submission portal and website are functional, and coordinate final publication.
• Proof‑read, conduct editorial and plagiarism checks, and maintain a centralized log of all cases.
• Represent the Hub Lead in local and international forums where SACC participates.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Business, Communication Studies or related fields.
• 2–3 years of experience in a writing and/or publishing environment.
• Evidence of published works such as research journal papers or educational case studies.
• Certification in specialized English writing or oratory skills is an advantage.

Required skills

• Excellent English writing, formatting, proofreading and editing abilities.
• Technical proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
