Cash-Based Assistance Consultant – Asia Field Support (Remote)

About the role

Provide technical and operational support to UNICEF country offices in Asia on cash‑based assistance modalities in fragile and humanitarian contexts. The consultant will work under the Global Cash Hub Chief in Nairobi and collaborate with multi‑division teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the rollout of UNICEF's global capacity‑building strategy for cash‑based assistance, including field‑support missions of up to four weeks.
• Conduct technical and operational assessments, design cross‑sectoral cash programmes, develop risk matrices and SOPs for payment processes.
• Advise on delivery system choices, liaise with the Poverty Centre of Excellence, and help establish robust monitoring and verification systems.
• Gather and analyse data, document good practices, and contribute to global coordination through regular Global Cash Hub meetings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, social science, data analytics or related field (or equivalent bachelor’s plus certifications and experience).
• At least eight years of professional experience supporting humanitarian response, with a minimum of five years dedicated to cash‑based assistance in diverse settings.
• Fluency in English and proven experience providing technical assistance on humanitarian cash transfers to UN agencies, NGOs and governments.
