Cashew Extension & Aggregation Officer (Fixed‑term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for a hands‑on Extension and Aggregation Officer to run a cashew buying centre on Kenya’s coast. The role will aggregate raw cashew nuts, ensure quality control, and build market‑access opportunities for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the buying centre during scheduled hours, keeping it clean, organised and secure.
• Handle, dry, weigh, and store raw cashew nuts (RCN) according to Tupande SOPs, performing quality checks and sorting damaged or moldy nuts.
• Process farmer payments through FieldPro, ensuring compliance with KRA/eTIMS and escalating any discrepancies.
• Deliver agronomic training, communicate purchase requirements, and conduct field visits with reports.
• Collect and record farmer and broker data using digital tools, and coordinate logistics for RCN collection with the logistics team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural, aggregation, trading or similar operations with verifiable references.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili, ability to read/write local coastal language(s), and strong basic arithmetic skills.
• High integrity in handling goods, weighing, and record‑keeping, with attention to detail.
• Independent, proactive problem‑solver comfortable working with limited supervision.
• Willingness to travel across the assigned area and strong connection to the local farming community.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and comfortable use of tablet/smartphone data‑collection tools.
• Experience with FieldPro payment processing and KRA/eTIMS compliance systems.
• Basic arithmetic for accurate weighing and record‑keeping.
