Cashier / Line Attendant

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Cashier / Line Attendant for its retail/supermarket business in Ndenderu, Limuru. The role covers cash handling, POS operations, customer service and checkout management.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately using the POS system and handle cash, card and other approved payment methods
• Issue receipts, verify payments and keep accurate transaction records
• Balance cash daily and report discrepancies to the supervisor
• Welcome customers, answer product and pricing questions and escalate concerns when needed
• Manage queues, pack purchases and keep the checkout area clean and stocked
• Check prices, promotions and barcodes, and report damaged or mispriced items
• Maintain records of transactions and cash collections, follow cash-handling and refund procedures, and support end-of-day cash counting and handover

Required profile

• KCSE certificate required; a diploma in Business or a related field is an added advantage
• Previous experience in a minimart, supermarket, retail store or similar environment
• Good customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Organized, reliable, able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced team environment
