Category Lead – Beverages

About the role

The Category Lead – Beverages will own the strategy, brand positioning and trade activation for NFT Consult's beverage portfolio in Kenya. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive growth, profitability and market share through integrated marketing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual marketing plan for the beverage portfolio, aligning with growth and profit targets.
• Identify category and channel opportunities such as health‑and‑wellness trends, on‑the‑go consumption and pack innovation.
• Lead brand positioning and communication for flagship brands (Planet, Jooz, Juo, Reaktor Simba) and new product launches.
• Design and implement ATL, BTL and digital campaigns that build preference and differentiation.
• Collaborate with Sales and RTM teams to create trade‑marketing and in‑store activation plans for GT, MT and HoReCa channels.
• Measure activation ROI, optimise trade spend and prepare quarterly performance reports.
• Support new‑product development from consumer testing to launch, working with R&D, supply chain and sales.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field; CIM or MBA preferred.
• 5–8 years of FMCG marketing experience, with at least 3 years in beverage or food category management.
• Proven track record in brand and trade marketing within a competitive consumer‑goods environment.
• Deep understanding of traditional and modern trade dynamics in Kenya and East Africa.
• Strong analytical, commercial and execution capabilities; experience managing agencies and budgets.
