Central Catering & Accommodation Manager

About the role

The Central Catering & Accommodation Manager leads the university’s Central Catering and Accommodation Services department, ensuring smooth, efficient operations that meet the needs of students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and manage day‑to‑day operations of catering and accommodation services.
• Develop, implement and monitor departmental policies, strategic plans and operational work plans aligned with university objectives.
• Maintain high standards of service delivery, food quality, hygiene, cleanliness and customer care.
• Supervise staff, promote professionalism, teamwork and positive engagement with students and other clients.
• Oversee human‑resource functions including performance management, welfare and capacity development.
• Prepare, manage and control the departmental budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
• Oversee procurement of food supplies and other departmental requirements in compliance with university policies.
• Advise university management on catering, accommodation and hospitality matters.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and statutory regulations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Hospitality Management or related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of comparable experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar position within a recognized academic institution.
• Computer literacy.
• Reports to the Principal, Students Welfare.
