Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic financial leadership for Tropikal Brands Africa Limited and its sister company Tropikal Spaces Limited. Based in Nairobi, the role focuses on protecting assets, supporting sustainable growth, and overseeing all core finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and investment evaluation.
• Lead financial reporting, accounting, management accounts, reconciliations and annual audits.
• Manage commercial finance, product costing, pricing and margin optimisation for manufacturing operations.
• Oversee treasury activities, working capital, cash flow, credit control and FX/interest rate risk.
• Ensure tax statutory compliance, filings, eTIMS, audits and payroll remittances.
• Drive systems and process improvement, internal controls and risk management.
• Provide finance oversight for Tropikal Spaces Limited and related investment transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent professional qualification with active membership in Kenya.
• Minimum 10 years progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior finance leadership.
• Strong experience in manufacturing/FMCG finance – costing, inventory and commercial finance.
• Proficiency with Sage X3 ERP.
