About the role

Royal Mabati Factory Limited is looking for a Chief Information Officer in Nairobi to own the company's digital future. The CIO sets vision and execution for an integrated, secure and data-driven enterprise, turning technology investments across ERP, CRM, HRIS, MES, e-commerce, fleet, surveillance, corporate IT and future digital platforms into measurable growth, operational excellence and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Digital strategy: turn corporate strategy into a 3-5 year digital roadmap with measurable business value, prioritizing programs with clear ROI and outcomes.
• Enterprise systems: drive implementations of ERP, CRM, HRIS, MES, e-commerce and fleet systems and unify them into a connected architecture, with API/event-driven integration across supply chain, finance and customers.
• Secure digital workspace: access governance, endpoint protection, encrypted collaboration and data lifecycle policies, with company-controlled retention of sensitive data.
• Cybersecurity and resilience: run a risk-based security program, enforce Zero Trust, continuous monitoring and disaster recovery testing, integrating physical and digital security.
• Data, analytics and AI: establish data governance, master data management and quality reporting, and deploy advanced analytics and AI for demand forecasting, maintenance and supply chain optimization.
• Operations, service and vendors: run a strong IT service management function (SLAs, XLAs, automation), optimize the vendor ecosystem, reduce TCO and manage contracts.
• People and change: build a digitally fluent IT team aligned with business needs and drive structured change management.

Required profile

• 5+ years in IT/digital leadership with enterprise scope, including 5+ years at C-level or equivalent.
• Proven record delivering multi-system transformations (ERP, CRM, MES, e-commerce, fleet).
• Degree in computer science, IT, engineering or IT and business.

Required skills

• Enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and AI/ML expertise.
• IT/OT convergence knowledge.
• Strong financial and business acumen (TCO, ROI, value realization).
• Stakeholder management and board communication.
