Clearing and Forwarding Manager (Sea Freight)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) now part of the MSC Group, is hiring a permanent Clearing and Forwarding Manager in Mombasa. The C&F Manager gives strategic and operational leadership over sea imports, exports and transport, making sure processes from documentation and customs clearance to cargo delivery run efficiently, profitably and in compliance with statutory and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Sea Imports, Exports and Transport functions, set measurable operational objectives and run monthly reviews with department heads
• Supervise the Sea Imports Manager, approve major import files and check customs documentation against KRA and port regulations
• Oversee exports, supervise the Exports Supervisor and review export performance indicators
• Supervise the Transport Supervisor and review transport utilisation, turnaround times and costs
• Prepare annual departmental budgets, monitor expenditure, review revenue reports and validate billing accuracy
• Ensure compliance with customs, port and transport regulations and audit quality, and track cost per shipment, gross margin and customer satisfaction
• Act as the senior escalation point for client issues and maintain relationships with clients, shipping lines, transporters and regulators

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade or Business Administration
• Diploma in Clearing & Freight Forwarding (KIFWA or equivalent)
• Minimum 8-10 years in C&F operations, including sea freight and transport
• At least 5 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in customs clearance, shipping line coordination and multimodal logistics
