Clearing & Forwarding Manager

About the role

The Clearing & Forwarding Manager leads the company's sea import, export and transport functions, ensuring efficient, profitable and compliant movement of cargo. The role oversees customs clearance, documentation, cargo delivery and cost management while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for sea imports, exports and transport, aligning departmental objectives with company strategy.
• Supervise import activities, approve high‑value cargo files and ensure customs documentation complies with KRA and port regulations.
• Oversee export operations, manage documentation, vessel loading and coordinate container allocations.
• Monitor transport dispatch, routing and utilization to optimise cost efficiency and turnaround times.
• Prepare and control departmental budgets, review revenue reports and ensure billing accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade or Business Administration.
• Diploma in Clearing & Freight Forwarding (KIFWA or equivalent); FIATA, CIPS or similar certification is a plus.
• Minimum 8–10 years experience in C&F operations, including sea freight and transport, with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role.
• Proven expertise in customs clearance processes, shipping line coordination and multimodal logistics.
