Client Operations Manager – Freight Forwarding

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) now part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Client Operations Manager in Mombasa, Kenya. The role coordinates the receipt, inspection, documentation and handover of all cargo arriving at site, ensuring compliance with operational, quality and HSE standards. It is a permanent, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Cargo receiving and inspection: verify delivery documents against the physical shipment, check quantity, condition, packaging and labelling, and report shortages, damages or discrepancies to the Site Operations Supervisor and client representatives.
• Truck inspection and HSE compliance: check vehicle condition, load security and lashing, confirm driver PPE and site safety compliance, and report unsafe conditions and incidents to the Site Operations Supervisor and QHSE team.
• Offloading coordination: schedule truck arrivals and offloading with clients, warehouse and operations teams, liaise with the Control Tower and Track & Trace Officer, monitor offloading and escalate delays or bottlenecks.
• Reporting and documentation: keep daily records of arrivals, departures and cargo received, prepare daily, weekly and monthly receiving reports, maintain delivery notes, inspection and discrepancy reports, and record data in company systems.
• Performance monitoring and continuous improvement: track receiving performance, recommend improvements, support improvement initiatives and take part in operational review meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Warehousing or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cargo receiving, warehousing, logistics or transport operations.
• A certificate in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
• Experience in oil & gas, industrial logistics or project cargo is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
