Cloud Lead Architect

About the role

MEDECINS SAN FRONTIERES is looking for a Cloud Lead Architect in Nairobi to provide enterprise-level leadership for cloud and hybrid technology environments within the ICT function. The role ensures that cloud platforms, infrastructure services, security controls and architectural standards support organisational priorities while delivering resilient, secure, scalable and sustainable digital services across MSF operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture principles, target-state roadmaps and technology standards
• Provide architectural oversight for cloud and infrastructure initiatives
• Establish secure cloud architecture practices and governance frameworks to manage technology risk and support compliance
• Lead the adoption of modern cloud and hybrid technologies to improve scalability, performance and reliability
• Define architecture requirements for availability, recoverability, monitoring and continuity of critical services
• Advise leadership and technology teams on architectural decisions, cloud investments and technical risk
• Promote interoperable cloud standards, reusable platform capabilities and common technology patterns across MSF entities
• Mentor technical teams and promote architecture best practices

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture, including 3 years in cloud technologies
• Demonstrated experience designing and governing cloud and hybrid environments
• Experience leading technology transformation, modernisation or migration initiatives
• Experience in complex, multi-site or international environments
• Required certifications: CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
