Club and Activities Manager

About the role

The Club and Activities Manager leads the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facilities on an installation, overseeing both fitness programming and bar operations. Reporting to senior MWR leadership, the role ensures safe, engaging, and well‑run recreational services for personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exercise guidance, testing, prescription and supervise MWR users; teach group exercise classes.
• Mix and serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with age and safety regulations; handle intoxicated patrons according to guidelines.
• Manage bar inventory, ordering, and point‑of‑sale transactions; open and close the bartending station.
• Maintain sanitation standards for bar tools, glassware and food service areas.
• Coordinate inventory control, supply ordering and special‑event preparation.
• Supervise staff to deliver high‑quality customer service and ensure equipment functionality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including emergency response and first‑aid support.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience coordinating team sports, recreation clubs, or social events.
• MWR or armed‑forces recreation experience preferred.
• Physical ability to work in remote, potentially hazardous environments with long hours.

Required skills

• Point of Sale (POS) software operation.
• Inventory management and ordering.
• Bar mixing and beverage service techniques.
• Knowledge of exercise science, health and fitness testing.
• CPR and first‑aid certification (preferred).
